A fresh political alignment is emerging ahead of the 2027 general election, with Hon. Blessing Onuh, daughter of former Senate President David Mark, taking a prominent role in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election campaign structure.
Mark currently serves as the national chairman of the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Onuh, a member of the House of Representatives, has been appointed national woman leader of the Take Action Campaign Organisation, a group mobilising support for Tinubu’s second-term bid.
Her appointment was conveyed by the organisation’s director-general, Tony Nwulu, at the campaign office in Abuja shortly after she received her letter of appointment.
Nwulu, an Imo-born politician and former lawmaker, is widely remembered for sponsoring the Not Too Young To Run Bill, a landmark legislation signed into law under former President Muhammadu Buhari. He was also the governorship candidate of the United Progressive Party (UPP) in Imo State in 2019.
In her acceptance remarks, Onuh said she would mobilise women and grassroots support nationwide to secure Tinubu’s re-election.
She aligned her role with the administration’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” pledging to promote its reforms and policy direction across key constituencies.
The development is politically significant given her family background, coming at a time when Mark is facing internal pressures within the ADC.
The Take Action Campaign Organisation said it is focused on promoting the achievements of the Tinubu administration while engaging citizens on its economic and governance reforms.
The group added that it will also counter opposition narratives by deepening public awareness of federal government policies and their intended impact.
With Nwulu coordinating the campaign structure and Onuh leading women-focused mobilisation, the organisation is positioning itself as a key player in the emerging re-election coalition.
