Nigeria’s leading opposition political party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has hailed Acting President Yemi Osibanjo on the proactive steps he had taken to checkmate tension in the country over hate speeches.
The party reacted to the Acting President’s series of meetings with leaders in the South- East and Northern Traditional Rulers over the recent quit notice to Igbos to leave the North by the Northern Youths Coalition.
The party said hate speeches coming from the North, South- East or West must be avoided and be condemned by all.
The Chairman of a faction of the PDP, Ahmed Makarfi, called on the Federal Government to build on the effort by making all sections to be viable and operate an inclusive government.
Makarfi also prayed for President Muhammadi Buhari and wished him quick recovery, just as he called on leaders and governments at various levels to handle emerging challenges facing the nation in the best possible way
