Details emerged weekend how top chieftains of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Imo State, were completely kept in the dark, over the appointment of Chairmen of the Interim Management Committees, IMC, of the 27 Local Governments.
This newspaper observed that the appointments were soley made by the Governor without consultations with party leaders in the State.
The Chairmen are mainly members of Governor Uzodinma’s political structure, CAMP HOPE in the 27 local governments.
“ No consultations. Party leaders in the respective local governments were not brought into the scene as regards selection of the IMC Chairmen for the 27 local governments.
“ I think the appointments were soley made by the Governor” said a top APC chieftain in the State who spoke on condition of anonymity.
This newspaper observed that the 27 IMC Chairmen were key loyalists of the Governor in various local governments who guided and aided his ascension as Governor of Imo State.
The source said the party only made inputs by nominating in some areas ward chairmen of the APC loyal to the State caretaker Commitee, as members of the Interim Management Committees.
