Charles Orie, Managing Director/CEO of Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC), has tendered his resignation.

Orie is known to be a key ally of Governor Hope Uzodimma.

Orie announced his decision in a statement on Monday, citing no problems with Governor Hope Uzodinma or the Imo State Government.

“I remain APC political leader in Ohaji/Egbema, Imo State, and Nigeria, and I am still working for the Governor General of South East, His Excellency Dist. (Sen) Hope Uzodinma,” Orie said.

He described Uzodimma as “more than a Governor” to him, but rather a friend and family member.

“I want to use this opportunity to thank everyone who supported me on this assignment as MD/CEO ISOPADEC.”Orie stated in his statement.

He expressed gratitude to colleagues in Government House, the SSG, Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staffs, Commissioners, Special Advisers/Assistants, and members of the Imo State House of Assembly.

Orie also thanked his constituents in Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta, and Oru East for their support during his tenure.

He extended his appreciation to traditional rulers and leaders of Ohaji/Egbema LGA, saying, “I received immense support and love from you as MD ISOPADEC.”

Orie also thanked the Governing Board/Management/Staff of ISOPADEC, describing them as “amazing people.”

His resignation comes as a surprise, but Orie reassured that he is “still very much around” and committed to the APC and Governor Uzodinma.

The Imo State Government has yet to react to Orie’s resignation.

His resignation has sparked mixed reactions, with some speculating other reasons behind his decision.
