In a distinguished gathering at the 10th Second Session of the Synod of the Diocese Egbu, Chief (Engr) Success Akagburuonye, a revered real estate magnate and renowned philanthropist, was awarded a prestigious award on November 2, 2024.
The award ceremony took place at St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Umuokoro, Ngor Okpala LGA, Imo State and brought together prominent clergy, dignitaries, and eminent personalities from across Imo State.
Chief Akagburuonye, who is the President of the Hope Rising For Imolites Foundation, was celebrated for his exceptional commitment to humanitarian efforts.
This recognition from the Anglican Church highlights Engr Akagburuonye’s significant contributions towards the upliftment of humanity and his dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of the people of Imo State.
The award was presented to him on behalf of the church leaders and elders, symbolizing the church’s appreciation of his ongoing commitment to assist the downtrodden.
Representing Chief Akagburuonye at the ceremony was Dr. Humble, who accepted the award on his behalf.
Following the award presentation, Madam Olaedo Ike Godson, Project Director of Hope Rising For Imolites, who spoke on behalf Akagburuonye, thanked the church for recognizing his contributions, affirming that the honour would further motivate him to pursue his philanthropic mission.
Chief Chukwudi Opara (Udorchimara Emii), Director of Contact and Mobilization for Hope Rising For Imolites, also expressed gratitude to the Anglican Synod for the acknowledgment.
He commended the church’s decision to honour Chief Akagburuonye.
The Hope Rising For Imolites foundation, under Chief Akagburuonye’s leadership, has been actively involved in numerous charitable projects.
These include support initiatives for incarcerated persons, as well as youth and women empowerment programmes.
The award ceremony witnessed the presence of notable personalities, including Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere, who represents Ideato North/South in the House of Representatives, and renowned business mogul Chief Chima Amadi and other dignatries.
