The National Association of Electronic Media Presenters of Nigeria (NAEMPON) has officially endorsed the re-election bid of the Imo State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Ifeanyi Nwanguma, describing his leadership as exemplary and transformative.

In a statement issued by its President, Ambassador Jerry Osuji, NAEMPON said it was throwing its full weight behind Nwanguma in recognition of his outstanding contributions to journalism and his unwavering support for the association and its members over the years. Osuji reaffirmed NAEMPON’s full support for Nwanguma’s re-election, expressing optimism that his continued leadership would further strengthen the bond between the NUJ and electronic media practitioners in Imo State.

The group noted that under Nwanguma’s leadership, the Imo State Council of the NUJ had maintained a robust and mutually beneficial working relationship with NAEMPON, resulting in stronger collaboration among journalists and electronic media practitioners across the state.

“Comrade Nwanguma has been a true pillar of support to Imo radio and television presenters. He has not only extended the needed support and cooperation to our fledgling association of on-air presenters but has also participated actively in all our state-level activities, demonstrating a deep commitment to the entire media ecosystem,” the statement read.

NAEMPON further acknowledged that Nwanguma’s partnership with the association has been instrumental in giving voice to on-air personalities, adding that his willingness to publish NAEMPON’s reports in his popular newspaper, Starpost Express, reflects his dedication to promoting all arms of the media.

Highlighting his achievements in office, the group said the NUJ under Nwanguma’s leadership had witnessed remarkable progress and revitalization, bringing vibrancy, transparency, and inclusiveness to the union’s activities in the state.

“Comrade Nwanguma’s administration has yielded impressive results. His vibrancy, transparency, and openness have successfully put the Imo State Chapter on the national map of the Nigeria Union of Journalists,” the statement added.

NAEMPON described Nwanguma as a bridge-builder who has fostered unity among journalists across different platforms and upheld the ethical standards of journalism in the state.

“As strategic partners in the media industry, we collectively pray that your sterling record of achievements in the union speaks eloquently for you in your forthcoming election,” NAEMPON said.
