*As Party Commends Him for Commitment
A former APC senatorial aspirant for Abia North, Prof. Philips Nto, has assured the party that he will work with other stakeholders to deliver victory in all his constituencies in the zone during next year’s general elections.
“It is five over five in Abia North, namely, House of Assembly for Arochukwu State Constituency, Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, the Senate for Abia North, and the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,” he declared.
Prof. Nto, a former Abia State Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning, spoke at his Umuahia residence when the State Chairman of APC, Chief Chijioke Chukwu, led members of the State Working Committee to celebrate with him on the occasion of his birthday.
He said working for the victory of APC in all the constituencies was a self-imposed task which he would strive to accomplish, the challenges notwithstanding.
According to him, “Although the primary for the senatorial ticket didn’t favour me, I have put that behind me because the party is supreme and the leader, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, has integrity.”
The former Provost of Abia State College of Education, Technical, Arochukwu, disclosed that he had since joined forces with the Abia North senatorial candidate of APC, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, to ensure that opposition candidates don’t have a foothold in Abia North.
“I am constantly in touch with His Excellency, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, to ensure that APC records total victory in my Ututu Ward, Arochukwu LGA, Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency and Abia North Senatorial Zone, and for our governorship candidate, Chief Eric Opah, and for our dear President.”
He expressed gratitude to the APC State Chairman, Chief Chukwu, and his team for devoting time to celebrate with him on his birthday and described the gesture as a show of love.
Earlier, a former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martin Azubuike, who spoke on behalf of the delegation, described Prof. Philips Nto as a great asset to the APC.
He commended him for his team spirit, which had seen him embrace Senator Orji Uzor Kalu in the interest of the party.
The former Speaker declared that APC was going into next year’s elections with its first eleven and the record of sterling performance in office by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and predicted a landslide victory for the party.
He told Prof. Nto that they were in his house to show him love and solidarity on his birthday and to assure him of their continued support in all his endeavours.
Among the party faithful during the visit was the State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Uche Aguoru.
