In what appears an audacious move towards signalling his much trumpeted governorship ambition, Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has said he has the capacity to turn things around and more importantly posses the experience, requisite knowledge of governance and administrative prowess.
He also restated his undiluted loyalty to Governor Rochas Okorocha.
Madumere has been widely rumoured to be interested in replacing his boss though he has not spoken about it publicly.
The Deputy Governor made the assertion while addressing All Progressives Congress party chieftains from Okigwe and Orlu zones respectively who visited him at at his country home in Achi, Ezi-Mbieri autonomous Community, Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State.
According to a statement from his office and signed by Wachukwu Confidence, Senior Special Assistant on Media, Madumere acknowledged people’s appreciation for his humility and loyalty, which are rare virtues that have been part of him for about twenty five years of his political sojourn with Governor Okorocha.
He added that he has the vision and the capacity to deliver the goods to the people.
He therefore called on the party faithful to scrutinize his Progressive antecedents and discover that despite his rich cognate experience in both corporate and public sectors, God has always guided him towards achieving set goals and objectives.
He told party executives from Orlu “I am thankful to you all for your faith in our great party at all levels and your ardent support for Owelle Rochas Okorocha led administration and the Buhari led Federal Government. Like I will continue to tell you, if loyalty to my boss is a sin, I will continue to commit such sin. However, what has kept me with my leader, Owelle Rochas Okorocha is not just loyalty and humility but competence and capacity to deliver the goods.For those of you who have followed up with my antecedents, you would appreciate the fact that I have the competence and I have always delivered especially when it concerns the welfare of our people and development of the State in general”
Madumere is know to be a staunch loyalist of Okorocha and many had thought he would be easily chosen as successor by Governor Rochas Okorocha. But the governorship ambition of other Okorocha loyalists has blown up the race on who Okorocha chooses to suceeed him.
Some of Madumere’s capacity, according to the statement by his media office include his involvement in leading the security agencies towards retrieving Imo State from the clutch of kidnappers and dare devil armed robbers. Madumere is also known for his conflict and crisis resolution prowess, with which he has brought bear in resolving seeming difficult situations. He is said to have reconstruct Imo government gloomy relationship with foreign bodies and world bank. The results are the restoration of SACA, FADAMA III (additional financing) with latest attraction of Rural and Access and Mobility Project.
