A Federal High Court in Lagos presided by Justice Mohammed Idris has ordered the release of the Chairman of Capital Oil and Gas Limited, Ifeanyi Ubah, detained by the State Security Services for alleged economic sabotage.
Justice Idris ordered the SSS Director General, Lawal Daura to free Mr. Ubah from detention if no criminal action is instituted against him within 48 hours of his judgment.
The Attorney General of the Federation was also directed by the Judge to ensure that there is strict and due compliance of the judgment.
Mr. Ubah had been arrested over allegations of economic sabotage and diversion of petroleum products to the tune of N11 billion.
Some petroleum products were said to have been stored by NNPC Retail in Capital Oil’s tank farm in Lagos under an agreement but subsequently went missing under controversial circumstances
