Manchester United Coach, Jose Mourinho has said he complied with all his tax obligations when he was in Spain as coach of Real Madrid.
Speaking through his agent, Jorge Mendes, the coach said he has not heard anything to the contrary from the Spanish tax authorities.
Mourinho has been accused of fraud by defrauding tax authorities to the tune of 3.3 million pounds by a Spanish regional prosecutor.
He has denied any wrong doing.
Mendes said Mourinho has not received any form of notification with regards to the news published on Tuesday, saying till this date, neither the Spanish tax authorities nor the public prosecutor have contacted him or his advisers who were hired for the inspection process.
“Jose Mourinho, who lived in Spain from June 2010 until May 2013, paid more than €26 million in taxes, with an average tax rate over 41 per cent, and accepted the regularization proposals made by the Spanish tax authorities in 2015 regarding the years of 2011 and 2012 and entered into a settlement agreement regarding 2013″ Mendes said
“The Spanish government in turn, through the tax department, issued a certificate in which it attested that he regularised his position and was in compliance with all his tax obligations.” he stated
