The Ohaneze Youth Foundation has honoured Ijeoma Agbonma Kalu, the Director General, Support And Advancement of Persons Living With Disability.
She works in the office of the SSA to the President on Disability Matters.
In his remarks at the award presentation ceremony, the National President of the Foundation, Prince Chukwuemeka Don Uba said the award conferred on Mrs. Kalu was based on the fact that she is a woman full of human kindness, stressing that her nomination was devoid of lobbying or inducement. He said Kalu had over the years involved herself in every activity that engages and empowers the young ones, particularly the Phyiscal Challenged Persons.
Uba, who is also the National Coordinator of South-East Media Editors Forum, SEMEF, stated further that Kalu is a “Prophetess” being recognized by her own people and prayed God to to continue to bless her, urging her never to relent in her efforts towards making this society safe for all.
In her response after the award, she thanked the Organization led by the National President, Prince Chukwuemeka Don Uba for the recognition, stressing that the award will spur her further into giving more no matter how little back to the society.
She informed that the Ada Oma Ndi Igbo award accorded her was heartily cherished coming from her people, stating that she should continue to contribute her quota to the support and advancement of people living with disabilities and beyond in a bid to make sure that this world is better place to stay.
She thanked all those working with her for their support so far and the show of love and kindness towards her and her activities.
Further, Kalu pledged to give the Ohanaeze Youth Foundation, Nigeria the needed support to excel as an organization and as individual members, just as she pointed out that nothing would make her neglect her duties in any way for the interest of the society.
Kalu appreciated God for the recognition and further blessed him for the life he gave her and members of her family, friends among others
Almost all the guests at the event i Mr. Greg Anyaegbudike, a Government Engagement Advisor, who presented the award to Dr. Kalu. Others who witnessed the award presentation are Justine Chidimma Ibeh, Emmanuel Uzoma Emeruem, Samuel Ibezim and Bruno Ogumerem who are also members of the Foundation among others
