A report seen on THISDAY newspapers has explained why President Muhammadu Buhari cannot function from his office in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu revealed that the invasion of the President’s office by rodents is the cause why Buhari cannot function from his office.
The President had spent over 100 days in the United Kingdom for his medical vacation. He returned to Abuja on Saturday.
Thisday quoted Shehu saying, “Following the three months period of disuse, rodents have caused a lot of damage to the furniture and the air conditioning units.”
He further explained that it was impossible for his boss to operate from the office in that condition.
He said the President’s office is undergoing renovation, assuring that it would not affect the effectiveness of Buhari’s work since the residence has an annex to the office.
The president had been carrying out his duties from home since he resumed.
The renovation work, according to reports is being handled by Julius Berger.
