The National Patron, Youth Assembly of Nigeria(YAN) and Chief of Staff, Government House, Owerri, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu has promised to release an additional empowerment cash gift of N250,000 each to the 3 winners of the Ugwumba Uche Nwosu Imo Students Debate competition 2017 tagged: AGRICULTURE, A PLAUSIBLE ALTERNATIVE TO A PETROL DEPENDENT ECONOMY.
The lucky winners of the debate competition which took place in Owerri are Osuji Chukwuebuka Emmanuel of Imo state University who won the first prize of N200,000 cash at the event, Onyekwere John Okorie also of Imo State University who won the second prize of N100,000 and Ukaulor Emmanuel Chinecherem of Imo state University who won the third prize of N50,000.
Hon. Nwosu said the additional empowerment cash gifts will support the 3 lucky winners of the debate competition to enable them start up small scale agro based businesses.
And in line with the empowerment programme, the Youth Assembly of Nigeria(YAN) also launched 5 mini bus shuttles to support the transport system of Imo state which will enable 5 youths to be gainfully empowered as managers of the shuttle businesses in conjunction with HTS transport shuttle ltd.
The franchise was commissioned by the representative of Ugwumba Uche Nwosu who is the Chairman Imo Transport Company, Hon.Chief Laz Okaforanyanwu who expressed delight at the development strides of Youth Assembly of Nigeria(YAN).
Chief Okaforanyanwu noted that YAN is the only youth group that has distinguished itself with sound morals and leadership know-how worthy of emulation.
