Imo Retirees President Death Linked To Pensioners Bounced Cheques

The media in Owerri has been awash with reports that the death of the President of Retirees in Imo State,Mr.Gideon Ezeji.

Ezeji died last week according to family members and his death was linked to the mental ordeal he underwent while fighting for the pensioners welfare.

Newspaper reports quoted some family sources saying Ezeji took ill and was unable to access funds to fund his medical treatment because his cheque issued him by the Imo State government was unable to clear.

A government source told this newspaper that the cheques were unable to clear becuase the Accountant General of the Federation was not in the State as he went on a casual leave.
