The outcome of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP national convention which produced Prince Uche Secondus as national chairman has given an edge to the governorship ambition of former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon.Emeka Ihedioha to emerge the party flagbearer and possibly governor of the State in 2019.

Ihedioha is believed to have supported Secondus from start to finish in the latter’s s bid to emerge the party’s national chairman.

It was also Ihedioha alongside other key stakeholders in the party in Imo that solidly supported the Charles Ezekwem led State Executives of the party despite the fierce opposition from Nnamdi Anyaehie group.

With Secondus now in charge of the party at the national level, all hopes seems to be foreclosed for the Senator Hope Uzodinma backed Namdi Anyaehie group which is also laying strong claims to the PDP leadership in Imo State.

Ihedioha who was the party’s governorship candidate in 2015 is staging a comeback to the governorship contest in 2019 and with the emergence of Secondus as national chairman he appears set to emerge the governorship candidate of the party again.
