My dear good people of Owerri Ichie Ise,
I bring you my brotherly greetings and goodwill as you mark and celebrate yet another season of Oru Owere. It is an occasion that reminds us of our rich heritage of love, peace, unity and progress.
Over the years, Oru Owere has earned great values as the mirror of our people’s cultural and historical identity and pursuit of the sacred legacies of our forebearers. That generation after generation has sustained this festival speaks volumes of it’s importance in the lives of the people.
As you celebrate, I share with you the ideas, ideals, philosophy and socio-cultural lessons the occasion teaches and promotes. In deed, I am a proud, confirmed and uncompromising believer and promoter of our shared values.
We will explore the opportunities and larger sociocultural and economic benefits this festival offers to make it a first class theme festival which boost the tourist potentials of the state. It is my hope and belief that, together we can do greater good for our people to the glory of God.
As you are aware, I have accepted the mandate of my party the All Progressive Congress, APC to seek election as your Senator for the Owerri Senatorial seat, this is a call to serve with greater dedication as I have done. Surely, Owerri Zone is our pride and heritage and we all must be committed to her full and total renewal as espoused in the 3R mantra of the Sen Hope Uzodimma led government.
I continue to pray for God’s blessings upon us as we march towards a greater and better society for all of us and the next generation.
