Hope Uzodimma, governor of Imo State, has said his party, the All Progressives Congress, is battle-ready to win the November 11 governorship election in the state.
Speaking at the inauguration of the campaign council of the party for Imo governorship held at the Ndubuisi Kanu Square, Owerri, Saturday he said the APC is ready for the polls.
“Even if the election is tomorrow, we are ready for the election,” he said.
He stated that the people of Imo State are supportive of the party, vowing to take the party’s gubernatorial campaign to the polling units.
“Our people have bought into the party. I want to inform you that I have decided to take the campaign to the polling units. This is our effort to drive our campaign directly to the grassroots. Our campaign structure is bottom-up” he said.
Uzodimma said the APC is the only party in the state “properly positioned and ready for the November election.”
He said the party had embarked on reconciliation efforts.
“All the leaders and members of our great party who had suffered one grievance or the other, we have opened the doors.
“We have also witnessed massive decamping from other political parties. As I speak to you, the majority of the opposition political parties in Imo State, their structures, and the majority of their leadership have joined the APC,” he said.
In his remarks, the National Chairman of the APC, Umar Ganduje, said the APC would record resounding success at the November 11 governorship polls in the State.
“We will do everything to ensure that you succeed in this election.” Ganduje told teeming party members who came for the inauguration of the party’s campaign council.
