Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, has said President Bola Tinubu is behind the re-election of Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma.

Speaking at the flag-off of the Uzodimma/Ekomaru Governorship Campaign held at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri,Wednesday, Shettima urged the people of Imo State to cast their votes for Uzodimma in the forthcoming November 11, 2023, governorship election.

In his remarks, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Umar Ganduje, expressed satisfaction in the aspiration and candidacy of the governor and encouraged the people of Imo State to vote for him during the governorship election.

Former Governor of Edo State and Senator Representing Edo South in the Senate, Senator Adams Oshiomole, enumerated the achievements of Governor Uzodimma in education, health sectors, road reconstruction, and massive youth empowerment.

He said the governor deserves to be re-elected for a second term for achieving these feats.

Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, who also doubles as Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum, PGF, commended his party men for their support and commitment towards the development of the state.

He said he will not take the support from the people of the state for granted, assuring that if re elected as Governor, he would improve on his performance.

Aside from the flag-off of the APC governorship campaign, the Vice President and his entourage commissioned some projects, such as MCC-Toronto Road Safety Road.

Among the top APC chiefs who witnessed the flag-off are Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu of Lagos State, Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State, Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State, Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, Rev. Dr. Hyacinth Alia, Governor of Benue State, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, and Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State, who is the Chairman of the APC National Campaign Council for Imo State.
