The Special Adviser to Imo State Governor on Imo Orientation Agency, Chief Dr. Fidel Onyeneke, has urged the youths to take good advantage of the numerous empowerment programs of the Imo state government to further enhance their skill acquisition processes.

Chief Onyeneke made the appeal on Monday while addressing a cross-section of youths drawn from different parts of the state.

He said that the government had carried out valuable projects aimed at equipping young people with the appropriate foundation for economic emancipation.

Onyeneke cited the skill-up trainings and other programs that had been organized to expose Imo youths to various technical know-hows at the expense of the government.

He thanked Governor Uzodinma for providing the youths with various equipment for the take-off of their small-scale business ventures and also expressed the determination of the government to mainstream youth development and participation in governance as a deliberate effort to give them a greater sense of belonging.

The Special Adviser observed that no society could enjoy relative peace and development when the youth are restive and not taken care of.

The former Chairman of Nigeria Union Of Journalists, NUJ, Imo State chapter, said that Governor Hope Uzodinma had done many things to show his love and interest for the youth in the state. He therefore urged the youths to reciprocate the gesture of the governor by voting massively for his re-election on November 11.

The Special Adviser cautioned them against any act that would lead to violence and destruction during the gubernatorial election, adding that they should not allow some disgruntled elements to use them as negative instruments during the polls.

He reiterated that the Imo State government was youth-friendly and had mapped out more programs that would give the youth a sense of belonging in the scheme of things. Chief Onyeneke assured that more workshops and seminars would be organized in order to keep the young ones abreast of modern techniques in self-employment and economic growth.
