The Owerri Zone Awareness Coalition (OZAC) is delighted to present the outcome of an exhaustive and rigorous search to identify five exceptional individuals from Owerri Zone who possess the qualities necessary to lead Imo State as governor in 2027.
This process was thorough and required extensive deliberation, underscoring the depth of talent and leadership within Owerri Zone.
In the view of OZAC, these five individuals are capable, credible, and widely respected across Owerri Zone. They also command significant levels of acceptance in Orlu and Okigwe zones, making them unifying figures with the potential to lead Imo State effectively in 2027.
These individuals are tested and trusted leaders, consisting of two accomplished business tycoons with exceptional records of achievement, two seasoned politicians with proven leadership experience, and a technocrat with an impressive professional portfolio. They are deemed fit and proper for the governance of Imo State.
The selection of these five individuals is the result of broad consultations with some strategic stakeholders and reflects the consensus of OZAC’s think tank. The process was conducted independently and without external influence, ensuring credibility and objectivity in our approach.
It is important to note that this initiative is not an attempt to hasten Governor Hope Uzodimma out of office. As the sitting governor, Uzodimma retains the right to choose his successor in line with his political prerogative. OZAC will not interfere in his decision.
However, we respectfully advocate that he considers these capable sons of Owerri Zone when the time comes.
By 2026, OZAC intends to narrow this list to two outstanding candidates.Also, next year, we will unveil our official recommendations. This initiative aligns with our steadfast commitment to the principles of the Imo Charter of Equity, which prioritize fairness and unity, provided that Owerri Zone produces the next governor in 2027.
We also appeal to our sister zones, Orlu and Okigwe, to remain supportive of this cause. Together, we can ensure that Imo State benefits from the best leadership Owerri Zone has to offer.
OZAC remains confident that our zone will present a leader who will inspire progress, foster unity, and usher in a new era of prosperity for all Imolites.
