Abia: PDP Assembly Member Defects To Labour Party

The Labour Party (LP) has gained another seat in the Abia State House of Assembly.

On Tuesday, Nnamdi Ibekwe, representing Bende North, officially joined LP.

The Speaker of the House, Emmanuel Emeruwa, announced Ibekwe’s defection during plenary.

This move strengthens LP’s dominance in the Assembly.

Ibekwe’s switch comes just six days after he resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He cited unresolved crises within the party as his reason for leaving.

This defection is a significant blow to the PDP, which has been grappling with internal divisions.
