Uzodimma Lauds Police, DSS For Arrest Of JAMB Website Hackers

Imo State Governor and Chairman of South East Governors’ Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma has commended the police and the Department of State Service for the arrest of those suspected to have hacked into JAMB website recently.

JAMB experienced glitches in its website in the last examination, which affected the results of more than 370,000 students, mostly from the southeast.

The police and the DSS on Friday announced the arrest of 20 suspects over the hacking of the 2025 computer based test of the JAMB examination.

The suspects were said to have compromised, for a fee, the JAMB website resulting in the chaos experienced by the examination body and the subsequent trauma for parents and students.

Reacting to the arrest in a statement issued on his behalf by the state Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Hon Declan Emelumba, Uzodimma described the arrest as timely.

According to him, the arrest was not only necessary to establish the root cause of the problem, but to douse the tension that arose in the nation because of the crisis.

Uzodimma said both agencies must move quickly with the investigation to unravel all those behind the hacking of the JAMB website.

He was of the view that a quick investigation and arraignment of the suspects in court would act as a deterrent to would be criminals.

He said the JAMB imbroglio was a national embarrassment that should be dealt with immediately..

Uzodimma, however, commended the JAMB registrar, Prof Ishaq Oloyede, for his sincerity and commitment in ensuring that the sanctity of the examination body was preserved.
