Last month, ABJ tendered his resignation letter to the Ward Chairman of Ikenegbu Ward 1, Owerri Municipal, marking the end of his long-standing association with the PDP.
Speaking at the event in Owerri, he cited unresolved leadership tussles and internal crises within the PDP as the main reasons for his decision to leave the party.
“The PDP had been a home for me, but its ongoing leadership challenges have hindered meaningful progress in the party.
. “I am joining the APC because I believe in its vision for inclusive governance and development.” ABJ stated
He assured his supporters of his commitment to fostering unity within the APC in Owerri Municipal and contributing to the betterment of Imo State.
“This is a new chapter, and I am ready to contribute my quota to ensure that the APC delivers on its promises to the people,” he stated.

Mac Donald Ebere, the Imo APC Chairman, commended ABJ for what he described as a “wise move.”
He reaffirmed his loyalty to Governor Hope Uzodimma, saying “I am loyal to Governor Hope Uzodimma. Whatever he directs or says, I carry out. Owerri Municipal must be APC to ensure continuous development and the dividends of democracy.”
Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi echoed similar sentiments, describing ABJ as a staunch politician and a valuable addition to the APC.
He also lauded Governor Uzodimma for his relentless efforts in building the party in the South East.
“The coming of ABJ to APC in Owerri Municipal is a welcome development and deserves all the applause,” Onyewuchi stated.
