From January 1, 2026, the publisher/editor -in-chief of INNONEWS, Innocent Onyeukwu, will resume a weekly column titled Harvest, a platform dedicated to rigorous interrogation of political, social and governance issues shaping Imo State, the South East and Nigeria. The column, which previously debuted during his tenure as editor of the Imo-based Trumpeta Newspaper, will return in a refreshed form on the INNONEWS platform.
Harvest first appeared when Trumpeta was the first daily newspaper in Imo State, a period widely regarded as defining for print journalism in the state. At the time, the column was noted for its sharp analysis, fearless commentary and willingness to confront power, earning a strong following among readers and policymakers.
In its new incarnation, the column will focus on accountability, public policy, politics and the underlying forces that shape governance outcomes. Onyeukwu is expected to deploy his years of journalistic experience and political insight to interrogate actors and institutions, challenge official narratives and bring neglected public interest issues to the fore.
According to the publisher, the revival of Harvest aligns with INNONEWS’ commitment to deep, issue-driven journalism and civic engagement. The weekly column will debut in the first week of January 2026 and will be published exclusively on INNONEWS, with the newspaper positioning it as a flagship opinion feature aimed at enriching public discourse in the South East and beyond.
