Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of Nigerian winger Zadok Abu Yohanna from AIK Stockholm on a five-year contract, fending off interest from several top European clubs.

The deal, valued at €28 million with an additional €2 million in performance-related add-ons, will keep the 18-year-old at Brighton until 2031. Yohanna reportedly rejected approaches from Chelsea, Manchester City, Newcastle United, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund before choosing the Seagulls.

Yohanna joined AIK Stockholm from Nigeria’s Ikon Allah Football Academy in 2025 and quickly emerged as one of the most sought-after young talents in Europe. After initially featuring for the club’s academy side, he earned promotion to the senior team within weeks.

His rapid rise attracted scouts from across Europe, with several clubs closely monitoring his development throughout the season. Brighton eventually won the race for his signature as part of the club’s continued investment in young talent.
