Afro Lottery Systems, a prominent player in the lottery industry, has inaugurated an outlet in Owerri, the Imo State capital, with plans to establish four additional locations across the state.
The outlet, located at 102 Oparanozie Street, Owerri, was officially inaugurated on Wednesday, September 16, by Asiwaju Uzoma Anokwute, Operations Manager of the Imo State Lottery and Gaming Authority.
Before cutting the ribbon to formally open the outlet, Anokwute expressed optimism about the prospects of the business, stressing the importance of attracting patrons across different income levels.
Earlier, Okenze George Nkwoji, Managing Director of The Moment Communications Limited, the super agents for Afro Lottery Systems, assured guests that the outlet would comply with all rules and regulations governing pool betting and gaming operations in the state.
Nkwoji also pledged that the establishment would maintain a cordial relationship with the regulatory authority and the public.
A major highlight of the inauguration was the dedication of the outlet to God by Rev. Canon Daberechi Maduakolam, Administrator of Obube Archdeaconry of the Anglican Church.
Maduakolam prayed for divine guidance and protection, particularly to ensure that no illicit transactions take place within the outlet.
Officials of the Imo State Lottery and Gaming Authority who attended the inauguration included Emeka Ofo, Barrister Chidiebere Anyaoha, Mrs. Chukwuma F. N., Pastor Johnson Okereke and Boniface Chinedu.
The outlet will offer number games, lottery, virtual sports and scratch-and-win cards. D’CROWDAFRIK Nigeria Limited is the operator of the lottery firm.
