Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has appointed Chief Barrister Enyinnaya Onuegbu as Deputy Chief of Staff (Operations), returning the lawyer and politician to a key position at the Government House, Owerri. Onuegbu, who was the immediate past Commissioner for Lands, Survey, Housing and Urban Planning, is a familiar figure within the Uzodimma administration, having previously served in several strategic capacities. His latest appointment further places him among the governor’s senior political and administrative aides.
Onuegbu, a lawyer by profession, was appointed the pioneer Commissioner for Lands and Survey when Uzodimma first constituted his cabinet and was subsequently moved to the Ministry of Power. He later served as Chief Political Adviser and Head of the Political Bureau, a position he was reappointed to in March 2024 after the governor reconstituted his administration.
A native of Ngor Okpala Local Government Area, Onuegbu is also the traditional prime minister of his community, where he is known by the title Ebekuodike.
