Despite expressing it’s renewed determination to continue seeking for relevance in the PDP in Imo State, unconfirmed reports reaching this website indicates that some PDP members in the State loyal to the defeated and disgraced loyalists of Ali Modu Sherrif faction are seeking for political realignments outside the PDP in the State.
This is coming on the heels of some PDP members loyal to Sherrif who decamped to the Mega Party in the South West region of the country.
None of Sherrif’s loyalists who belong to the Nnamdi Anyaehie led faction in Imo State agreed to speak to this news website on this information.
Though majority of them have continued to say that the Supreme Court verdict does not in any way distort the political peculiarities in the State chapter of the PDP, it appears the centre can no longer hold within the group.
” It is a case of to your tenth oh Isreal. This is a lost battle for them. They may be fighting the mainstream party in the State just to cause confusion and distraction while seeking for realignment elsewhere”
“Some of them may go to the APC or to various political parties like they did in the South West region where they defected to the Mega party” a party official who spoke on condition of anonymity said.
None of Sherrif’s men agreed to speak to our reporter on the issue of political alignments or re alignments in the State.
Efforts to speak to Nnamdi Anyaehie, the PDP boss in Imo State loyal to Sherrif was unsuccessful.
It has been observed that Sherrif’s men have been uncoordinated since the Supreme Court passed it’s verdict on the leadership tussle in the PDP.
Sherrif had said he was shocked by the apex court judgement. Thereafter he opposed the “amnesty” he was offered by the Makarfi National Caretaker Commitee.
Most Sherrif’s loyalists had alleged that the no Victor,noVanquished policy of Makarfi was mere sloganeering as Makarfi’s men in the States have not really opened their doors for genuine reconciliation.
