A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress in Imo State and a former member of the House of Representatives, Hon.Uche Onyeagocha has explained why Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha must not be allowed to install a successor when he leaves office in 2019.
Onyeagocha spoke when Ohaneze Youth Group, Owerri zone chapter visited him at his country home in Owerri.
He said claims by the Governor that he has built 27 General hospitals in all the local governments in the State is a ruse.
“Let me tell us that there are no 27 General hospitals in the State. What we have are abandoned projects. There is no General hospital in Owerri municipal. The one in Ikeduru Local Government is managed by a private person. The rest have been completely abandoned” he said
He stated that the governor have received billions of Naria in allocations for the local governments which he did not put to use.
Onyeagocha challenged Governor Okorocha to conduct local government election in the State.
” I dare Rochas to conduct local government election in Imo State which he said will take place in September 2017. He cannot conduct that election because he is enriching himself from it”
He again accused the governor of planing to install his Chief of Staff and son-in-law, Uche Nwosu as his successor in order to continue pillaging the resources of the state.
“He wants Uche Nwosu to be governor, that is why he is empowering him and deceiving others close to him such as Chike Okafor and Acho Ihim”
