How Churches In Owerri Complied To Covid 19 Social Distancing

by admin

Last week, the Federal Government lifted the ban on religious gatherings.

Two days after the ban, the Task Force on the Prevention of Coronavirus in Imo State, appealed churches to observe covid 10 protocols such as use of face mask, washing of hands and social distancing.

The Task Force went round some churches in Owerri metropolis on Sunday to observe if the directives were adhered to.

Some of the churches it visited by the task force include the Cathedral Church of the Transfiguration of Our Lord (CATOL), Catholic Archdiocese of Owerri, Assumpta cathedral and living faith church, Owerri.

The level of compliance was impressive as members complied. The Task force Chairman, Prof Maurice Iwu, noted that the churches visited were carefully chosen, saying more churches in the hinterlands will be visited as well, to ascertain level of compliance.

Below are some of snapshots from Sunday service at one of the churches.
