Uju Charity and Empowerment Initiative (UCEI) will soon be launched, as Founder, Lady Chika Uju, called on the Trustees and Stakeholders of the Initiative to be ready to do the needful to ensure smoothness, success and sustenance.
The Founder, who noted that UCEI, established with the primary focus to enhance lives of widows, orphans and indigent persons in the society, said it was formerly registered in 2022, but faced delay due to challenging national economy.
Uju, a renowned journalist and rights activist, tasked the Board of Trustees (BoT) coordinating the formal launch of the NGO to be steadfast and committed towards realizing the NGO’s goal of reducing poverty, vulnerability and suffering.
Professor Sam Amadi who inaugurated the members of the committee, praised the Founder for her unwavering commitment and passion towards improving the welfare of the marginalized and oppressed in the society.Â
Amadi also commended the Initiator of the Humanitarian Project for assembling a capable team to drive the Organization’s vision forward.
Barr (Mrs) Ebere V. Chinyere, Chairman of the Launching Committee, in her acceptance speech, described the NGO as essentially noble, geared to improve humanity, as well as serve society passionately.
Chinyere called on the committee members to dedicate their utmost effort to ensuring the success of the upcoming launch.Â
With the Secretary of the Organization, Hon. Victor Diala, expressing his readiness to contribute effectively to the sustenance of the NGO, even as he deeply acknowledged Hon. Chika Uju’s vision behind the initiative, extending gratitude to Professor Sam Amadi for his timely involvement, and praying for God’s wisdom and more strength to be able to achieve the task ahead,.
Among the esteemed Committee members who accepted their roles to help pioneer the humanitarian initiative are Hon. Innocent Nnadiekwe, Comrade Juliet Dim, Mr. Reuben Onumajuru, Chief Charles Nwankwo, Comrade Chika Ewurum, Comrade ThankGod Emeh, and Rev. John Obiukwu.
The collective dedication and strategic leadership displayed by UCEI’s founders and committee members reflect a promising trajectory towards impactful community service and support for the most vulnerable segments of society.
