The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, has announced that the party will soon inaugurate a 50-member Policy Committee to shape its agenda in key sectors such as health, education, agriculture, security, and technology.
He made the disclosure during the inauguration of the party’s newly constituted National Working Committee (NWC) at the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held earlier today.
“This committee will help articulate what we stand for.
“We must not leave the destiny of our party to the discretion of individual candidates. Nigerians must know us as a party with a clear ideological direction and progressive policy framework” he said.
The committee, he noted, will be part of a broader review of the ADC’s manifesto and constitution to align with current national aspirations.
Senator Mark expressed deep gratitude to the former leadership of the party led by Hon. Ralph Nwosu, whom he praised for laying a solid foundation.
“I acknowledge the patriotism and sacrifices of Hon. Nwosu and his team who, over the years, built this party and are now handing over in the interest of the nation,” he stated.
The former Senate President assured party members that his administration would embrace full democratic practices, rejecting any form of imposition, favouritism, or indiscipline.
“Internal democracy, transparency and accountability will be our mantra,” he declared.
He said that the ADC would uphold a culture of collective leadership at all levels.
Senator Mark outlined his vision for a more inclusive and dynamic party, pledging to overhaul grassroots structures to reflect contemporary political realities.

“We are opening our gates to the next generation. Leadership roles will no longer be tokenistic but reflect genuine youth and women participation.” he explained.
He reiterated the party’s commitment to youth and gender inclusion, revealing that 35% of all leadership positions will be reserved for women and that persons under 40 will have a significant presence in party leadership.
“This is not about optics. It’s about ensuring ADC reflects the Nigeria we want to build.” he said.
Senator Mark emphasized the need for a competent, transparent party bureaucracy and sustainable financing structures.
“All members will truly own the party. We will ensure a technically sound system, not one based on patronage or privilege.” he assured.
While addressing the broader vision of the party, the ADC Chairman said that the incoming Policy Committee will drive development-centred strategies to transform the party’s promises into tangible results.
“From the economy to infrastructure and national security, we will deliver a template of what good governance should look like,” he added.
