Hajia Dr. Ramatu Tijjani, national woman leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC has kicked against the consumption of illicit drugs in the country.
She appealed to Nigerian women to join hands in combating the menace.
She spoke at the conferment of “ The Award of African Politics” award on her at a workshop on Illicit drug abuse by transport operators in FCT organized by Cable International News Media in Abuja.
Speaking during the conferment, the Project Coordinator of Cable International News Media, Comrade Samuel Kayode Idebi, said Dr. Rammatu Tijjani has paid her dues in the Nigerian political arena.
Comrade Kayode asserted that the decision to give her the award is based on her contribution to politics in Africa which is immeasurable.
“Despite the fact that she is a female, she has performed creditably in campaigns, mobilization and in rendering assistance to the downtrodden masses in Nigeria” he said
Comrade Idebi submitted, “She is a vociferous campaigner for the eradication of drug abuse by youth and the elderly most especially women in Nigeria, hence she is worthy of this honour”, he exclaimed.
In her acceptance speech, Dr, Tijjani thanked the organizers of the workshop and urged them to continue to advocate for a drug free society where all Nigerians would live a healthy life.
