APP Names Ernest Njesi, As Interim Chairman, Unveils New Imo State Executive Committee

The Action Peoples Party (APP) has announced the appointment of a new interim executive committee to steer the affairs of its Imo State chapter, signaling what it described as “a new dawn” for the party’s structure and political reawakening in the state.

In a statement jointly signed by the party’s National Chairman, Uchenna Nnadi, Esq., and National Secretary, Abu Ibrahim Bossan, the APP said the move was part of ongoing efforts to consolidate its grassroots presence and strengthen internal organization ahead of future elections.

According to the release, Hon. Ernest Njesi was appointed as the Interim Chairman of the party in Imo State, while Barr. Ezeonye Ogemdi B. was named Deputy Chairman for Orlu Zone. Engr. Henry Alaribe and Mr. Ernest Ezirim will serve as Deputy Chairmen for Owerri and Okigwe zones, respectively.

Engr. Emeka Onwukwe was appointed as the State Secretary, while Mr. Oliver Ajaegbu emerged as the Assistant Secretary. Others include Hon. Kingsley Okonkwo as Treasurer and Chief Leo Okeahialam as Deputy Treasurer.

The legal department will be headed by Dr. Uchechukwu Nwosu as Legal Adviser, with Hon. Clinton Onyeka serving as his deputy. Hon. Emma Bukar was named Organizing Secretary, while Mr. Cajetan Akuta C. will serve as Publicity Secretary, assisted by Engr. Wisdom Echefu.

Brent Akomas Chukwudi was appointed Financial Secretary, with Mr. Peter Etoh as Deputy Financial Secretary. The Auditor’s position went to Hon. Ndidi Onyemaechi, while Chief Eddy Nwosu will serve as Deputy Auditor.

Others appointed include Chukwuemeka Isdore C. as Youth Leader and Mrs. Adaobi Ijioma as Woman Leader.

The party leadership in Abuja congratulated the new executive members and urged them to uphold the core principles of unity, discipline, and service to the people, which the APP said were central to its mission of building a credible alternative political platform.

“This marks a new dawn for our great party in Imo State as we consolidate our structures and strengthen our grassroots mobilization ahead of future political engagements,” the statement read.

The APP national leadership further appealed to party members, supporters, and the general public to cooperate fully with the newly constituted interim committee as they assume leadership responsibilities in the state.

“The National Leadership of the Action Peoples Party congratulates the newly appointed officers and urges them to discharge their duties with dedication, unity, and
integrity, in line with the core values of our great party,” the statement added.
