Imo State Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Hon. Declan Emelumba, has described the recent Silverbird TV Governor of the Year Award bestowed on Senator Hope Uzodimma as a reflection of his transformative leadership in the state.
He said the Silverbird Group was right in conferring the award, as it speaks to the realities of the superlative performance of Governor Hope Uzodimma since he assumed office in 2020.
Emelumba, who represented his boss at the formal presentation of the award in Lagos at the weekend, noted that only a leader imbued with wisdom and ideas could have overcome the challenges Uzodimma faced to record such performance across all sectors.
According to him, “We started amid very turbulent insecurity, but due to the hard work of the governor, Imo is now one of the safest states in the Southeast, if not in the whole of Nigeria.”
The commissioner declared that the award was a true reflection of the realities on the ground in Imo State, saying that, “In the last six years, the Prosperity Agenda of His Excellency has remained on course, and today the fruits are evident.”
He disclosed that Uzodimma has made Imo State the first in Nigeria to secure energy sovereignty through the commissioning of the Orashi Power Plant, thereby positioning the state’s economy for unprecedented growth.
He also highlighted the road revolution in the state, noting that the governor has constructed more than 120 durable roads, alongside an extensive urban renewal programme.
Emelumba further stated that Uzodimma has trained more than 50,000 youths in digital skills, while thousands of others have been trained and empowered for self-employment.
He said the governor is deeply appreciative of the award from Silverbird TV, as it eloquently acknowledges the services he has rendered to the state.
In presenting the award, Silverbird Group representatives commended Governor Hope Uzodimma for overcoming security challenges to record significant achievements in the state.
