The Progressive Governors Forum has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory at the All Progressives Congress presidential primaries, describing the outcome as a validation of his leadership and service to the country.
The Chairman of the forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, said this in a statement issued on behalf of members of the forum on Tuesday.
Uzodimma stated that the outcome of the primaries reflected the confidence Nigerians have in Tinubu’s leadership capacity and commitment to democratic governance.
“It was a victory foretold. A validation by Nigerians to continue with your good works and further strengthen democracy,” the statement read.
According to him, the large turnout of supporters across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory was an indication of the President’s popularity and acceptance among party faithful and Nigerians.
“The long lines in the 36 states and Abuja said it all: an acknowledgement of your hard work, uncommon sacrifice and fervent love for country,” he added.
The forum noted that Tinubu’s emergence as the APC presidential candidate was well deserved, citing what it described as his sterling performance and exemplary patriotism.
Uzodimma further assured the President of the forum’s continued support ahead of the general election.
“We shall always stand by you because we believe in your vision, your capacity and your exemplary patriotism as President of Nigeria,” the statement added.
The governors also expressed optimism that the victory at the primaries signalled what to expect in the general election.
