Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has felicitated with Nigerian Muslims on the occasion of the Eid el Kabir celebrations and tasked them to prioritise unity, sacrifice, and patriotism for the continued existence of Nigeria.
In a message he sent to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all Muslims in Nigeria and Imo State, Uzodimma said the spirit of sacrifice symbolised by the festival should be translated into support for the economic reforms and developmental initiatives of the present administration.
He said he was happy that the sacred festival of Eid el Kabir teaches the enduring values of obedience, faith, selflessness, unity, and commitment to the greater good of humanity.
He said those values were much needed now in the country as the Tinubu administration was working hard to ensure the stability of both the polity and economy of Nigeria.
He also urged Muslims to use the occasion of the festival to pray for the continued unity and prosperity of the country.
According to Uzodimma, who is also the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Nigeria was going through reforms that needed the support of all citizens, the difficulties notwithstanding.
“Though the journey may demand patience and resilience, our collective sacrifice and national unity are essential to building a stronger, more prosperous, and inclusive Nigeria for present and future generations,” he declared.
The governor expressed satisfaction with the leadership of President Tinubu in engendering peace and stability and called on Nigerians to continue to support him.
While wishing Nigerian Muslims peaceful, joyful, and blessed Eid el Kabir celebrations, Uzodimma urged them to remain strong in their faith.
