A flashback video has resurfaced showing Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, commending Prince (Dr) Alex Mbata for his philanthropic activities and describing the impact of his humanitarian interventions on poor and vulnerable residents across the state.
The video, recorded in 2022 during a massive empowerment programme organised by the Prince Alex Mbata Humanitarian Foundation (PAMHF) for youths and women across the nine local government areas of Owerri zone, captures Uzodimma applauding Mbata’s humanitarian efforts.
“I am indeed very touched by the level of generosity and philanthropy exhibited by Prince Alex Mbata,” Uzodimma said in the video, while acknowledging the foundation’s efforts to support the poor and vulnerable.
“Touching the poor and the vulnerable, the PAM Foundation is empowering the poor and the needy,” the governor said, adding that the intervention demonstrated the importance of individuals and private organisations supporting government in addressing the needs of citizens.
Uzodimma said government could not independently meet all the needs of the people, stressing the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors.
“Government alone cannot take care of our citizens. It is only through constructive partnership with the private sector that government can make meaningful contributions that will have a rapid impact on our people,” he said.
The governor also commended Mbata for choosing to partner with government in empowering citizens.
“I want to, on behalf of government and the entire people of Imo State, carry bundles of greetings to Prince Alex Mbata for finding space in his heart to partner with the government in this direction,” he said.
Uzodimma prayed for God’s blessings upon Mbata, his family and community, before calling on other wealthy individuals in the State to emulate his example by supporting poor and vulnerable people.
“Let me use this opportunity to invite our brothers and sisters, who may not be as rich as Alex Mbata, who probably may have more money than Alex Mbata, to tow this line of honour because even God in His books says anything done for the poor is done for God,” he said.
Mbata is currently the APC candidate for the Imo East Senatorial District, popularly known as Owerri zone, in the 2027 general election.
The resurfaced video is being shared as a flashback to his humanitarian activities before the current political season, highlighting the 2022 empowerment programme held at the Ndubuisi Kanu Square, Owerri and Uzodimma’s contemporaneous commendation of his philanthropic interventions.
