The Renewed Hope for Greater Nigeria (RHGN), Southeast Zone, has congratulated former Senate President and ex-Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, GCON, on his appointment as Zonal Coordinator for Stakeholders’ Mobilisation, Southeast, in the newly constituted Presidential Campaign Council for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign.
RHGN described the appointment as a recognition of Senator Anyim’s decades of distinguished public service and his extensive experience in political mobilisation and stakeholder engagement across the Southeast.
In a statement issued on Monday and signed by Mazi Franklin Ngoforo, Deputy National Leader (Southeast) of RHGN, the group said Anyim’s appointment was “a fitting recognition” of a statesman whose contributions to Nigeria’s political development had earned him broad respect.
The organisation said Anyim, who is also its National Patron, had consistently contributed his experience and stature to advancing RHGN’s mission across the Southeast.
“As a National Patron of RHGN, Senator Anyim has consistently lent his stature and wisdom to strengthening our organisation’s mission across the Southeast,” the statement said, describing his new assignment as “a natural extension of the leadership he has long provided to us.”
‘Anyim brings unmatched experience’
RHGN said Anyim’s previous positions as Secretary to the Government of the Federation and President of the Senate had equipped him with the experience required to coordinate political stakeholders and mobilise support across the region.
The group described him as “a bridge-builder, a statesman of uncommon candour” and a leader whose influence “resonates across party lines.”
According to RHGN, these qualities make Anyim “eminently suited” to coordinate stakeholders’ mobilisation and rally support for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid across the five states of the Southeast.
The organisation also expressed confidence that Anyim’s experience in grassroots engagement and his understanding of the region’s political dynamics would strengthen the ruling party’s mobilisation efforts.
“RHGN Southeast is confident that Senator Anyim’s proven track record of grassroots engagement and his deep understanding of the political terrain of our zone will galvanise support for the Renewed Hope agenda and further consolidate the administration’s growing goodwill in the Southeast,” the statement said.
Appointment sends ‘clear signal’, group says
RHGN further argued that the appointment demonstrated that the political interests and aspirations of people in the Southeast remained important to the Tinubu administration.
“His appointment sends a clear signal that the contributions and aspirations of our people remain central to the President’s vision for a united and prosperous Nigeria,” the group said.
The organisation called on its leaders, members and stakeholders across the Southeast to support Anyim in his new role and participate actively in the mobilisation effort ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
It urged members to continue backing initiatives focused on “unity, development, and inclusive governance” in the Southeast and Nigeria.
RHGN Southeast described the appointment as “well-deserved” and wished the former Senate president fruitful engagements in his new assignment.
Senator Anyim, a former President of the Senate and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, is expected to play a key role in coordinating stakeholders’ mobilisation for the Tinubu campaign across Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states.
