The Leadership of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA in Imo State have secured fresh members mainly decampees from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State.
The feat was achieved when some State Executive members of the party led by its State Chairman, Barr Peter Ezeobi visited the area.
In their separate speeches at the event, the Owerri North APGA Chairman, Hon. Vincent Amadi commended the leadership of the party in the State for their steadfastness and support towards the growth and development of the party in the area. He praised the State Executives for the success of its just concluded Local Government tour in the State.
The Egbu Ward Party Chairman, Hon.Akujobi said the entire people of Egbu and Owerri North in general are proud of APGA , describing the party as the only political party ordained by God to govern Imo State in 2019. He appealed to the people to go and obtain their voters cards which he described as their only weapon and power to unseat the All Progressive Congress led government of Rochas Okorocha and stop the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP from returning to power.
The leader of the newly registered members of the party in Egbu Ward,Hon.Henry Ekwutolibe said they are now bonafide members of APGA having quit the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
“We left PDP because of their undemocratic nature and impunity” he said
He disclosed that the umbrella of PDP has been destroyed in Egbu and Owerri North in general.
An elder statesman in the area ,Mazi Emeka JJ Chukwueke said that the people of Egbu community have massively joined APGA.
