Owerri, the Imo State capital has become a flood bed whenever there is a downpour.
Some areas were affected by the flood on Saturday evening leading to traffic gridlock on major roads in the city.
Passengers were stranded to get cabs to their various destinations.
While this is not an abnormal situation, residents have called for expedited action on the part of the State Government to check the menace of flood whenever it rains.
An Owerri resident, Kemakolam Iwueke said ” This is becoming unbearable. We appreciate the road expansion programme of this government. But For God’s sake, there has to be expedited action. The suffering so much. The traffic gridlock and the flood whenever it rains is unbearable”
