Of the six covid 19 patients in Imo State, which underwent treatment after testing positive at the state Isolation centre, three have been discharged including the index case.

All the three discharged patients tested negative twice and were given all clear by the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control, NCDC regulations.

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma made the disclosure at a press conference in Owerri, Saturday

He had announced lifting of ban on burials in the State on Friday after he admitted that he came under pressure from mortuary operators to do so. The Operators, according to him, said dead bodies filled up the mortuaries because of the ban.

He directed that those who want to bury their loved ones should write to the local Government Chairmen of their areas, adding that there will be no ceremonies after such burials.

Giving further details on the state of the three discharged covid 19 patients, Uzodinma said that the number of cases undergoing treatment in the state present is only four, informing that there are no new cases of covid 19 patients in the state
