Prince Lemmy Akakem, apex leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Owerri zone, has declared that Prince Alex Mbata, the party’s Imo East Senatorial candidate, must be delivered at the forthcoming general elections in February 2023.
Akakem, popularly called Okpatazuoha, made the declaration at his Orji country home, when he received APC Women from Owerri North LGA.
“Prince Alex Mbata is a candidate, that must be delivered, our senatorial candidate is a plus to the zone and as far as APC is concerned, I m the father of the party” he said.
He also drummed support for all candidates of the party in the zone.
Prince Akakem, in response to other demands of the women, noted that he has encouraged people to join the party especially those who will add value to the party.
While stating that elections is a game of number, the apex leader said it is on record that he rolled out the red carpet for a lot of people to join the APC.
In her opening remarks , Mrs Gladys Egemonu, APC Owerri North woman leader said their planned courtesy visit to leaders of the party has to commence with the visit to Prince Lemmy Akakem, because according to her, “there is no other person known to us as the apex leader of the party but you”.
She on behalf of the women expressed happiness that Prince Lemmy Akakem, the father of APC, has restored peace and unity in Owerri North LGA and other parts of Owerri zone
