A total of 43 candidates have been cleared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to vie for the three senatorial seats in Imo State.
The list was released by the Commission on Tuesday, September 20.
Top on the list cleared for the contest by INEC include, Alex Mbata of the All Progressives Congress, APC for Imo East Senatorial District.
Others are Senator Osita Izunaso (APC, Imo West), and Patrick Ndubueze (APC, Imo North)
Others are: Mike Nwachukwu (Accord Party, Imo East), Opara Darlington Osundu (ADC, Imo East), Ifeanyi Godwin Arararume (Labour Party, Imo North), Obiajulu Alphonus (ADC, Imo West), Emmanuel Okewulonu (PDP, Imo North).
Aside the APC, Labour party and PDP, which fielded candidates, other political parties such as APP, BP, NNPP, NRM, SDP, YPP, Accord and ZLP also fielded candidates that were cleared by the electoral umpire.
