The senatorial bid of Imo East All Progressives Congress, APC, Senatorial candidate, Prince Alex Mbata, has been adopted by President Generals, Youth and Women leaders of the 232 communities in Owerri zone, ahead of the February 25, 2023 general elections.

At separate meetings attended by the President Generals, Women and Youth leaders of the communities drawn from  Mbaitoli, Ngor Okpala, Ahiazu Mbaise, Ezinihitte Mbaise, Aboh Mbaise, Owerri Municipal, Owerri North and Owerri West, they vowed to educate their people in the hinterlands on the need to vote for Mbata as the next senator for Owerri Zone.

Giving reasons for adopting Mbata for the Senate seat, the President Generals from Owerri Federal Constituency comprising Owerri Municipal, Owerri West and Owerri North Local Governments, who spoke through their spoke-persons, Hon (Amb) Jude Agbugba (Owerri Municipal), Hon Cyracus Akujobi (Owerri North), and Uche Ezekwe (Owerri North), expressed optimism that Mbata will win the senatorial seat for Imo East, because of his numerous humanitarian activities which has impacted positively on the lives of the people of Owerri zone.   

They noted that Mbata is most suitable candidate for the senatorial seat of Owerri Zone, having towered above other candidates in terms of capacity, competence and ability.

They stressed that Mbata’s track records of humility, philantrophy and enormous contributions to the welfare of the people, including contributions to infrastructure development in the zone via construction of some roads, stand him out as the right person for the job in the Red Chambers.

Mrs Nkwocha Clara, a woman leader from Owerri West and a youth leader, Izuchukwu Afokwalam (Mugabe), equally pledged their support for Prince Mbata, enumerating various reasons for their decision and resolution. They vowed to take campaign vigorously for him at the hinterlands.

Also, President Generals, Women and Youth leaders from Mbaise nation, comprising Ezinihitte Mbaise, Ahiazu Mbaise and Aboh Mbaise, also adopted the senatorial candidacy of Mbata.

In their separate remarks, Nze Placidius Eberendu, POP (Aboh Mbaise), and Secretary, POP, Imo State, Nze Hon Chief Magnus Amaefule (POP, Ahiazu Mbaise), on behalf of President Generals in Mbaise nation, endorsed Mbata as the next  Senator for Owerri zone.  

Nze Amaechi Kingsley, a youth leader from Aboh Mbaise, also adopted Mbata as their Senatorial candidate, on behalf of youths in Mbaise nation.

Also, PGs, Women and Youth leaders from Mbaitoli and Ngor Okpala followed suit in their adoption of Mbata for Senate.

Leo Elvis Kanu, POP, Ngor Okpala, and Godwin Emmanuel, POP, Mbaitoli, and Mr Everest Ezihe, in their separate remarks, announced their resolution to support Mbata’s Senatorial candidacy, on the basis that he is the most suited for the job.

In his response, Mbata expressed joy over the adoption and endorsement, which he noted, signifies the overwhelming confidence reposed in him to represent the good people of Owerri zone at the senate.

The business mogul cum philanthropist recalled that he joined the race to represent Owerri zone at the senate, in furtherance of his commitment and overwhelming desire to ensure the good and betterment of the people.

He also recalled his several humanitarian activities in Owerri zone, which gulped over half a billion naira, to aid the people to be self sufficient.

“I have accepted the resolution and adoption of my candidacy for Owerri zone senatorial race by the President Generals, Youth and Women leaders in Owerri zone. I am deeply touched and overwhelmed by this massive show of support.

“I assure you all that I will not disappoint you, I will not fail you and with this outpouring of support, I am confident that I will be elected the next senator for Owerri zone come February 25, 2023 ” he said

He promised to constantly engage the people of Owerri zone when he is elected to the Red Chambers of the senate, stating that he joined the senatorial contest because of the people and not to enrich himself

“I m in this race because of you. I m blessed by God already. And I want to bless others. The love for my people had propelled me to empower over 3,000 persons in Owerri zone even before I thought to join the race to become senator.

In his remarks, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Owerri zone, Mr Chima Anozie, recalled how Mbata’s empowerment programmes have become a source of livelihood for hundreds of people in Owerri zone and deserves to be elected the next Senator.

The event was witnessed by former Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Godfrey Dikeocha, Imo State Commissioner for Power, Lady Ann Dozie, Sole Administrator, Aboh Mbaise, Mrs Ogechi Njoku, and many others.
