The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Imo State chapter, has insisted that Albert Agulana is the party’s rightful candidate for Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency.
In a statement signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Mr. Collins Opuruozor and made available to newsmen in Owerri, the party described as fake news, tales by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, that Agulana has been removed as candidate of the party for Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency.
The party noted that Agulana’s victory at the polls on Saturday is cast on concrete, describing the fake news on Agulana’s removal as height of desperation by his enemies.
The PDP stated that “there was never a time the name of Dr Agulana was removed by INEC.
“In short, the final list of qualified candidates as published by INEC contains the name of Dr. Agulana as our House of Representative candidate for Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency” part of the statement stated.
It said it is deeply worrisome that certain persons would resort to “fake news as part of their attempts to deny the people of Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency the quality representation which Dr Agulana stands to deliver”
While calling on the people of Aboh Mbaise and Ngor Okpala to turn out overwhelmingly on Saturday, February 25th, 2023, to vote Dr Agulana, and other PDP candidates, to redeem Nigeria and rev up the development of their Federal Constituency, it advised security agencies to tame the menace of fake news by arresting and prosecuting those it is their stock in trade to embark on such destructive venture.
