Samuel Anyanwu, a one time Senator and National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has revealed how saboteurs in the Imo State chapter of the party ruined the chances of candidates in the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections.
Anyanwu, in a statement in Owerri and signed by his media aide, Ikenna Onuoha, made available to INNONEWS, said the aim of the saboteurs is to ensure that the PDP does not exist in the State.
He said the saboteurs after hijacking the election intervention funds released to the party in Imo State, ” turned back against candidates of PDP and played anti party in order to justify the deal they had with leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
He appealed to the candidates who are victims of the actions of the saboteurs”who suffered the neglect and sheer betrayals in the hands of these saboteurs to remain calm” assuring “that all legal means shall be utilized to bring those directly and indirectly involved to book”
The PDP had put a dismal performance in the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly election, winning none of the three senatorial seats in Imo State.
The party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar came a distant third in the presidential race in the State.
