There is terror in Imo State after gunmen, on Saturday, killed two persons as they shot sporadically along the busy Akwakuma/Amakohia road, Owerri, Imo State.
An eye witness account stated that the armed men started the attack before noon, warning residents of the area to obey the Sit- At- Home order.
Traders, market men and women, motorists and tricycle operators ran for their dear lives at the popular Rochas Okorocha market, when the armed men struck.
A good number of people were also seriously injured during the melee. One tricycle operator was shot dead. Another person was shot, but it was unconfirmed if he was dead.
The attack at Akwakuma came barely 24 hours a local market was attacked at Orie Amaraku in Isiala Mbano local government area.
Part of the market was torched, as some buses and motorcycles were set on fire.
