Stop Sit-At-Home Order,Come For Talks-Ohaneze Ndigbo Tells Simon Ekpa

by admin

Ohaneze Ndigbo has extended an invitation to Finland based  Biafra agitator, Mr.Simon Ekpa for discussion, just as it condemned in strong terms, the sit-at-home order by Ekpa and his group.

Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo in a statement on Tuesday, however called on “all sons and daughters of Igboland to go about their lawful businesses and disregard the two weeks sit-at-home order of Mr. Ekpa”

Ekpa had last week declared a two weeks sit-at-home in Igboland which begins on July 31st.

Iwuanyanwu noted that Sit- At- Home “is an ill wind that blows nobody any good”

“It is evident that the series of sit-at-home is affecting the social and economic life of the Igbo. Surely, it is not to the advantage of the Igbo youth”  he declared.

Iwuanyanwu noted that it is very disheartening that the people of South East of Nigeria are being subjected to hardship by the incessant call for sit-at-home.

“Unfortunately several non State actors in an attempt to enforce the order have unleashed mayhem on the people.

“As a result, several people have been killed, maimed and properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed .

“In addition, the Sit-At- Home order has been instilling fears and trepidation on the good people of the South East, making it difficult for people to come out to transact their lawful businesses on the Sit-At-Home days” part of the statement read.

It noted that the two weeks sit-at-home declared by Ekpa is unacceptable to Ohaneze, stating that “ It is very disturbing that at a time the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide is engaging the Igbo entrepreneurs all over the world, on a think-home philosophy, a foreign based Igbo is bent on destabilizing the home front”
