New National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdulahi Ganduje, has vowed to work for the victory of the party in the off season governorship elections in Imo, Kogi and Bayelsa States.

Ganduje, a former governor of Kano State, made the declaration during his acceptance speech at the 12th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party in Abuja.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, would conduct governorship elections in the three states on November 11, 2023.

11 political parties have fielded governorship and deputy governorship candidates for the election in Imo State.

However, three major political parties, the All Progressives Congress, APC, the Labour party and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP are the major contenders in the contest in the State.

Governor Hope Uzodimma of the APC is seeking re- election for a second term.

National Secretary of the PDP, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, is the governorship candidate of the party, while Senator Athan Achonu, is the governorship flag-bearer of the Labour party.
